More than four tons of hashish seized in hidden compartments of two trucks in the Granada Municipality of Motril
The hidden compartments consisted of 72 metal boxes containing numerous hashish pills compacted with silicone, a layer of plaster, and the roof of the semi-trailer.
The Guardia Civil has seized more than 4,400 kilos of hashish hidden in two hidden compartments in the roofs of the semi-trailers of two trucks at the port of Motril in Granada.
In this operation, the two truck drivers, who came from the Moroccan port of Tanger-Med, have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking offense.
Last Friday, agents from the Fiscal and Border Section, while inspecting vehicles disembarking from the ship Volcán de Tauce, coming from the port of Tanger-Med, detected a possible hidden compartment in the roofs of two refrigerated trucks.
Investigators found that the roofs of the two semi-trailers were more solid than usual. They transported the trucks to the Phytosanitary Inspection Point of the port for a more thorough examination of both vehicles and discovered that the two semi-trailers had a hidden compartment along the entire roof.
These hidden compartments consisted of 72 metal boxes containing numerous hashish pills compacted with silicone, a layer of plaster, and the roof of the semi-trailer, which greatly hindered their extraction. Once the hashish was extracted, it weighed 2,123 kilos from the first truck and 2,290 kilos from the second.
The detainees, the drugs, and the seized trucks have been made available to the Mixed Court of Motril.
