Experience the warm and powerful voice of Mario Ross, backed by guitar and vocals from Ron Howells, as they perform all the hits from the 50s right up to the 90s. This week, Mario is stepping in for the one-and-only Sean Murry- the human jukebox- who will be back next week with Ron as the duo Ransom, who have played at the venue since December and created quite a buzz at Los Amigos due to their vast collection of classic songs and the way they put their own twist on the tracks.
Mario Ross is an extremely versatile entertainer and vocalist, with a large repertoire of songs, you can be sure he will adapt to any type of audience to suit your venue. The duo’s light hearted comedy is also a hit wherever they perform!
Ron Howells has been a professional guitarist for over 50 years and played with some top bands- stepping in as a ‘dep’ guitarist for The Steve Gibbons Band, Dozy, Beaky (who he still performs with at Villa Tiberia, Marbella), Mick and Tich, to name a few.
A few years ago Ron had the privilege of backing Jo Longthorn with his trio at a private gig in Benhavis, Marbella, followed shortly later by a charity gig with Lee Ryan-singer from the boy band Blue at Villa Padierna- a top venue in Marbella- where the Obama’s stayed on their visit to Spain a few years back.
‘Rockin Ronnie’ as he is known locally, also backed a long list of famous celebrities late into the night when he worked as the resident guitarist in a venue called The Edge, second line Puerto Banus, where Cilla Black, Cliff Richard and Paul Daniels were regular clients. Of course, Apache by the Shadows was a favourite request lol!
You can expect to hear some timeless classics such a “Just Can’t Help Believing” (Elvis), “Delilah” (a new arrangement that Sir Tom Jones sings himself at his concerts) The Beatles, The Searchers, The Stereophonics’- the list goes on…
The Sunday afternoon sessions are becoming extremely popular, bookings are advisable. Apart from the great music there is a fantastic traditional Sunday roast dinner on offer- with all the trimmings! The staff are very attentive, the food is great and the music creates a lovely atmosphere that has punters coming back week after week, hope to see you there!
