More information is emerging about the strikes called by the ground services workers of Iberia, affecting 444 flights during January 5th to 8th. These strike days will be observed at 29 Spanish airports, occurring during one of the busiest travel periods, close to the Epiphany and the end of the Christmas holidays.
The airline explains that it “deeply regrets the refusal of the unions to call off and reiterates its willingness to dialogue. In order to move forward with any kind of negotiation Iberia maintains its essential condition for the stoppages to be revoked, which will cause unnecessary and unjustified damage to the thousands of travellers returning on those dates from their vacation of Reyes.”
The company has released the list of cancelled flights for these four strike days. In the case of Malaga, a dozen transfers with either the origin or destination being Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport are affected. Here are the twelve cancelled flights involving Malaga:
