A driver had a lucky escape on Sunday morning after the car he was driving veered off the road and tumbled down a roughly 20-meter-high ravine, landing on Carvajal beach, Benalmadena.

The incident took place on Avenida del Sol, and the driver of the impacted vehicle was transported by ambulance to the Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella. Although the exact causes of the accident remain unknown at present, municipal authorities confirm that the woman sustained only minor injuries despite the gravity of the fall.

According to reports from Emergencies 112 Andalucía, calls were received from concerned neighbours around one in the morning, alerting authorities that a car had breached the guardrail while traveling along Avenida del Sol, descending off a cliff overlooking Carvajal beach.

The damaged vehicle, as per municipal sources, has been left on Benalmádena beach, awaiting removal by a specialized tow truck.
