Royal Scandal: Spain’s Queen Letizia’s former brother-in-law claims he had an affair with her

Queen Letizia’s former brother-in-law, Jaime del Burgo, claims to have had a relationship with her before and during her marriage to Felipe VI of Spain- and the Spanish public are in uproar over the revelations!

Lawyer and businessman, son of the Navarre politician Jaime Ignacio del Burgo, married Telma Ortiz, sister of Queen Letizia, in 2012, from whom he separated in 2014 and from whom he divorced two years later. Del Burgo published on X (formerly Twitter) alleged anecdotes linked to Queen Letizia with whom, according to him, he had a relationship for years. (See X post below)

Del Burgo, 53, who is currently in Britain, has recently spoken about journalist Jaime Penafiel’s book “Letizia & I”, in which he recounts everything that happened between him and Queen Letizia.

He says he met Letizia before 2000 and their relationship started with a romantic trip to Venice. Jaime Del Burgo was thinking of proposing to Letizia, but during a dinner in 2002, she told him she was dating a “mysterious diplomat”.

In the book, Del Burgo claimed that Queen Letizia had reached out to him the night before her wedding at the El Latigazo restaurant in Madrid. He alleged that during their meeting, she held his hand and questioned why he never proposed to her. According to Del Burgo, the queen concluded their encounter with a plea: “Never leave me.”

As evidence to support the statement, Del Burgo posted a photo of Letizia on Twitter/X, which she later deleted.

“Love. I’m wearing your pashmina. It’s like feeling at my side. She takes care of me. I’m counting the hours to see each other again,” she wrote in a photo (later deleted) of them together. “I don’t change a comma in my deleted messages. I appreciate the messages from those who understood that I had my reasons. I bear no grudge against those who threatened to kill me. I don’t feel proud. But the truth is what it is.

When multiple social media users questioned the validity of the image, the businessman deleted his X account.

The Spanish Royal Family has declined to comment on Del Burgo’s claims. Please remember to check back on this story.
