An Albanian cell was dismantled by Police after a string of robberies in Malaga’s Puertosol
The National Police have dismantled the cell of an Albanian criminal organization that is attributed with 18 robberies carried out in homes in the capital of Malaga.
The police action has allowed the clarification of the latest criminal acts in the Puertosol urbanizations of Puerto de la Torre and Cerrado de Calderón, La Mosca, Miraflores de El Palo and El Candado , the latter in the eastern area.
During a spectacular police operation this Tuesday, November 28, the agents arrested six members of the plot in a property located in an isolated area of Comares, in the heart of Axarquía.
During the police raid on the suspects’ home, investigators seized a simulated pistol ; 10,000 euros in cash; tools to perpetrate assaults; a reagent kit to check if an effect is gold; jewellery ; a collection of coins and stamps ; clothing involved in criminal acts; two vehicles; documentation; and bag of marijuana.
Modes of operation
Operation Senda, carried out by agents from the Robbery Group of the Provincial Police Station of Malaga , began after a series of complaints with the same common denominator: robberies in chalets bordering unbuilt and vacant land and areas with easy access to the highway.
The perpetrators combined breaking and entering and leveraging doors and windows to carry out the robberies and the investigators suspected that the same perpetrators were behind these robberies, who planned the assaults in detail to avoid confrontation with the residents.
Different evidence ended up leading to a home in Comares where the suspects remained hidden. In a large police force, made up of about 30 personnel assigned to Medios Aéreos, GOES , Canine Guides and the Robbery Group , the National Police has arrested six people for their alleged involvement in the plot.
Those arrested are in police custody at the Provincial Police Station, while investigators continue with the proceedings to fully clarify the facts. As for the recovered jewelry, some of them have already been recognized by their owners , while in other cases investigations continue regarding their origin. The investigation remains open and the agents do not rule out that those arrested may be involved in other events of the same nature.
